Reflect and Comment on Reading: 1309, 1181, & 1182
“1309 (52) When I make the Way of the Cross, I am deeply moved at the twelfth station. Here I reflect on the omnipotence of God’s mercy which passed through the Heart of Jesus. In this open wound of the Heart of Jesus I enclose all poor humans… and those individuals whom I love, as often as I make the Way of the Cross. From that Fount of Mercy issued the two rays; that is, the Blood and the Water. With the immensity of their grace they flood the whole world….”
“1182 (50) + Today the Lord said to me, My daughter, My pleasure and delight, nothing will stop Me from granting you graces. Your misery does not hinder My mercy. My daughter, write that the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My mercy; [urge] all souls to trust in the unfathomable abyss of My mercy, because I want to save them all. On the cross, the fountain of My mercy was opened wide by the lance for all souls — no one have I excluded!”

1309 – I think I get it, finally. The distillation of the whole of Scriptures is this image of Station XII.
1181 – Only mortal sin drives Jesus out of a soul, nothing else.
1182 – Jesus has excluded NO ONE from the unfathomable abyss of His Mercy because he wants to save us all. At our small group I became aware that two different Bible translations use two different words. Ps 118, a psalm of praise: in one translation, “His Love endures forever;” the other, “His Mercy endures forever.” Mercy and Love are interchangeable. We could make a meditation on that for a long time.

1309 – I am reminded of the prayer for conversions, “O blood and water, which gushed from the heart of Jesus as a font of Mercy for us, I trust in you.”
1181 – What shocked us and the the secular world was Mother Teresa’s revelation that for years she did not “feel (Christ’s) presence.” Her Dark YEARS of the Soul. How then could she continue to do His will unfailingly?! I believe her answer is what Christ told St. Faustina, “… even though you do not perceive Me in the most secret depths of your heart, you still can not say that I am not there. I only remove from you the awareness of My presence, and that should not be an obstacle to the carrying out of My will. I do this to achieve My unfathomable ends…”
1182 – What hope for everyone! “… the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My Mercy…”
Gene.
Peace,
1309 Friday night Stations of the Cross now demand more thought from me than before, especially the twelfth Station. I find myself actually thinking of Christ’s Passion, instead of just going through the motions and reading the lines in our little pamphlet.
1181 I enjoy a definitive answer “…Only Mortal Sin drives Me out of a soul, and nothing else”. So why do I say – ok, but what about when I …. (this double guessing Jesus is something for me to work on)
1182 I agree Colette – now I feel (if I am given the opportunity) to relay Christ’s message to those in need without appearing pushy or arrogant.

1309-You can feel the Stations of the Cross when you say the Chaplet. For me it is the hour that he requested the Chaplet to be said and that is 3 o’clock. Just looking at the picture of Jesus that St. Faustina witnessed with the rays coming from his side displays the immensity of His mercy for us and His love.
1181& 1182-Here I see a demonstration on the need to Trust Him. So many times you might feel so alone but you do have to trust that He really knows your needs and what is best for you. We might think we know what we need but we are not correct in our assessment of the situation. As Catholic we are so fortunate to have the sacraments.

When I read about the blood & water flowing from Christ’s side after they pierced Him with the lance, I was in awe of what an immense act of love that was for all of us.
# 1181
How often when we pray, do we wonder if He is even listening to us? After reading this passage I will make an effort to remind myself that only mortal sin, truly drives Our Lord out. Seeking consolations from Our Lord, like, “knowing” or “feeling” His presence, is a gift but the determination or “will” that even though we don’t “feel” anything, we will do whatever we must, I believe shows strength in our souls.

‘ I love reading the part, “the greater the misery in the soul, the greater the right to My Mercy.” I loved also that no one is excluded. He wishes to save everyone. If we ever looked at anyone & thought, that one is worthy or that one isn’t, this puts all of that in His perspective.
